This Children’s Week, we are invited to celebrate the rich diversity of children and young people across the ACT and reflect on how we can support every child to maintain meaningful connections to their culture, language, faith and community.
The ability to express and celebrate these aspects of identity is an important right that contributes to children’s wellbeing, development and sense of belonging.
Across the Health and Community Services Directorate, we work with families, carers, cultural groups and community organisations to create inclusive environments where children and young people can thrive. Through our programs and partnerships, we support children to stay connected to the people, places and traditions that are important to them.
Thank you to the ACT Children’s Week Committee for its ongoing commitment to promoting children’s rights and creating opportunities to celebrate the strengths, diversity and contributions of children and young people across the ACT.
