🖤💛❤️ BUILDING THE NEXT GENERATION: EVERY CHILD’S RIGHTS, STRENGTH, VISION AND LITERACYInspired by NAIDOC Week and Children's Week

Indigenous children have the right to grow up feeling proud of who they are. Their connection to culture, family, and the land is very important. They carry stories and knowledge from their ancestors, and they are the future of our communities.

Children should learn their own language, culture, and history. Elders can teach and support them as they grow. This gives them strength. When they feel proud of their identity and can share it with others, they show vision. Literacy means understanding your culture and being able to speak up with confidence.

Families and Elders know what’s best for their children. They should help make decisions about education, health, and safety. These choices should always respect Indigenous culture.

We must also remember the pain caused in the past—like when children were taken from their families during the Stolen Generations. Healing comes from understanding the truth and working together to build trust.

Protecting Indigenous children’s rights means listening to them, celebrating culture, and helping them feel strong, safe, and connected to their community.
